The best deep-cycle AGM batteries for 2026

Four sealed lead-acid batteries, all 12 V and 100 Ah, and all about 60 lb where a LiFePO4 battery of the same capacity weighs 22. The reason to choose AGM is temperature: Renogy rates its battery to discharge from -4 to 140 °F and UPLUS from -4 to 131 °F, where most LiFePO4 batteries stop charging at freezing. What separates them is how much of the 100 Ah you can use: UPLUS rates its lead-carbon battery for 80% depth of discharge and says ordinary AGM should stay at 50%. Then the discharge limits: Renogy publishes 1,100 A for five seconds, UPLUS 710 A and 45 A continuous, while Mighty Max and UPG publish none. Warranties are short, one or two years. One listing reverses series and parallel wiring, and another gives a weight no 100 Ah lead battery can have; both are noted on their pages. Prices were read on Amazon.com on November 2, 2026.

Mighty Max ML100-12 (Group 27)

Deep-cycle AGM batteries and who each one is for

Winter RV storage
AGM tolerates cold that would stop a LiFePO4 battery; keep it topped up with a maintainer.
UPS and alarm backup
UPG rates its UB121000 for float duty, which suits a battery that sits charged for months.
Budget solar bank
The Mighty Max is the cheapest per amp-hour; plan on using about half of it.

The trade-offs of deep-cycle AGM batteries

Weight against price
About 60 lb each against 22 lb for LiFePO4, for roughly the price of the cheapest LiFePO4 battery on this site.
Usable capacity
At 50% depth, 100 Ah of AGM delivers about what 50 Ah of LiFePO4 delivers at full depth.
Warranty
One year (Mighty Max, UPG) or two (Renogy prorated, UPLUS), against five on most LiFePO4 batteries here.

What keeps coming up about deep-cycle AGM batteries

Is AGM the same as a leisure battery?

Leisure battery is a British term for a deep-cycle battery used in caravans and boats. In the US the same product is sold as a deep-cycle or RV battery.

How do I wire a 24 V bank?

Two 12 V batteries in series. One listing on this shelf says parallel; that is wrong. Parallel keeps 12 V and adds amp-hours.

What charger does AGM need?

An AGM profile, at a current the maker allows: UPLUS says 0.25C at most, 25 A for its 100 Ah battery.

Can AGM be mounted on its side?

Mighty Max and UPG say in any position, UPG including upside down.

How long will it hold a charge in storage?

Renogy and UPLUS state under 3% self-discharge per month.

Why is one listing’s weight so low?

The Mighty Max listing gives 28 lb; sealed 100 Ah lead batteries weigh about 60 lb, as the others here state.

In short, on deep-cycle AGM batteries

AGM earns its place in the cold and on a budget. UPLUS gives the most usable capacity, Renogy the best-documented cold and surge figures, Mighty Max the lowest price.
