The standard

IEC 62852. The standard that defines connectors for photovoltaic systems. Three connector sets in this family, and one cites it. The other two describe themselves as compatible with MC4 — which is a product designation that became a common noun, not a specification.

1500 V DC. 30 A. Both published. Neither of the other sets here publishes either.

Snap-in

No crimping tool, no crimp. The contact locks onto the prepared cable. That removes the commonest installation fault on this shelf — a crimp made with the wrong die, which looks right and heats under load.

No current rating on a solar contact

An ingress rating, which both cheaper sets publish. And the contact material.

The naming

Amazon records Kalitec, the reseller. The product is a Weidmüller PV-Stick.

Availability

German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores quoted 64 € to 86 € when this page was compiled.

British Amazon store carries it too, priced in its own currency, which the euro range above deliberately omits.
