Five euros, and the one sentence the other three do not write.

The warning

The second bullet, in its entirety: this socket is not suitable for lighters, and inserting a lighter element directly into it will burn the socket.

Four car sockets in this family. One says it.

Every 12 V accessory socket in a modern vehicle looks like a cigarette lighter socket, and almost none is rated to run a lighter element — which draws around ten amps and glows red. Someone will try it. This seller wrote down what happens.

What is supplied

The socket, a 0.6 m lead in red and black, an inline fuse and a retaining nut to fix it to a panel. Everything needed, including the fuse that most listings leave to you.

The rating

5 A, for 12 V to 24 V systems. That covers a phone, a GPS, a dashcam, a small pump. It does not cover a compressor or a cool box.

The sealing

A waterproof, dustproof cover — described rather than rated. No IP figure, which is the gap in all four sockets here.

The cut-out

Not published. The hole has to be measured against the part, which for a panel-mounted socket is an annoying discovery to make with a hole saw already in hand.

Availability

German, French and Spanish Amazon stores quoted 5 € to 6 € when this page was compiled.

Italian Amazon store wanted more than 1.6× what the cheapest country wanted. A margin that wide usually means stock shipped in from elsewhere rather than a seller on the ground, so that quote stays out of the range above.

American and British Amazon stores returned nothing at all, so the buy button there runs a search instead of landing on an empty page.

These figures are what Keepa reported on the day this page was last updated. Availability and pricing move without notice.
