An outlet that also tells you how the battery is doing.
The voltmeter
A digital LED display of the vehicle battery voltage, in real time, built into the socket panel.
Twelve point two volts is about half discharged on a lead-acid battery. Eleven point eight is trouble. Having that number on the dashboard rather than behind a multimeter in a locker changes the question from “will it start” to a glance.
Four sockets in this family; one has it.
The ports
USB-C with Power Delivery. Two QC 3.0 USB outputs. Both current protocols, named — which for a socket that has to charge whatever people own is the relevant specification.
The switch
An independent on/off toggle. USB modules draw a small quiescent current whenever they are live, and a fortnight parked turns that into real amp-hours. A switch that cuts them is the difference between an outlet that costs nothing idle and one that does.
The materials
PA, CSA and PA66, with heat, wear and oxidation resistance described.
The lines this listing leaves blank
The current rating of the 12 V outlet itself. The panel cut-out, on a part whose whole installation is a hole in a dashboard. And any IP figure behind the sealed construction.
