Why does IP68 matter on a display?

Because a battery monitor is mounted where it can be read, which on a boat or in a van locker is often where water goes. IP68 means dust-tight and rated for immersion, which is more than the other four monitors in this family publish.

What does “remaining time” actually measure?

The monitor divides the energy it counts as remaining by the current currently flowing. It is accurate while the load is steady and moves sharply when the load changes — which is why it is a guide rather than a promise.
