The number that matters, published

100 V maximum PV input. Seven of the eleven controllers in this catalogue publish no ceiling at all. A string above the ceiling damages the input, open-circuit voltage rises as cells cool, and without the figure the calculation cannot be attempted.

The description that does not resolve

The first bullet states that the controller combines MPPT and PWM charging technology with high efficiency and a tracking efficiency of at least 99.5 %. MPPT and PWM are alternatives, not ingredients. Whether this unit switches between them, or implements one and markets the other, is not established by the page.

What it does well

Four chemistries named — sealed, gel, flooded, LiFePO4 — with automatic voltage detection from 12 to 48 V. Seven operating modes, including light control with a ten-minute delay, which is what a street lighting or garden installation actually uses.

What is absent at 100 A

What does “combines MPPT and PWM” mean?

Those are two different charging approaches: one tracks the panel’s best operating point, the other ties the panel to the battery voltage. A controller can implement either, or switch between them. The phrase as written describes a combination rather than a choice, and this page reports it as the maker’s wording.

Why does 100 A need wiring sizes?

Because 100 A through an undersized cable is a fire, not an inefficiency. A controller rated at that current should state the minimum cross-section for its terminals, and this listing does not.
