Marvellous 9 V 1.8 W solar pump, 200 l/h, 18 cm panel review

A 9 V 1.8 W solar pump rated at 200 litres per hour with a PET panel of about 18 cm, for fountains, ponds, aquariums and garden irrigation.

The bottom line The only pump here with a flow rate, published without the head that would give it meaning. 200 litres per hour at zero lift is the easiest number a pump can quote, and no curve accompanies it.

The number that is missing beside it

Head. Flow and head trade against each other: a pump moving 200 l/h on the level may move half that at 30 cm of lift and nothing at its ceiling. A flow figure alone describes the zero-lift case, which is the most flattering one.

What does 200 l/h mean without a head?

It is the flow at zero lift — water moved on the level. A pump moving 200 l/h flat may move a fraction of that at 50 cm of lift, and nothing at its maximum head. Without the head figure or the curve between them, the number describes the easiest possible case.

Why does a pump curve matter?

Because flow and head trade against each other. A pump curve plots one against the other, so an installation with a known lift can be matched to a pump that will still deliver at that height. Neither pump here publishes one.
