  • A stated heat resistance figure, which no other product in this family gives
  • A continuous-loop handle joined to the base, so the weight is carried by the loop rather than by a seam
  • It is a bag, not a box — nothing is fixed down and nothing is restrained

Best for: Carrying and charging a lithium battery somewhere a fire would not spread.

Not a box — a bag, and a different job.

What it is for

Containing a fire. The multi-layer composite is described as fire-resistant and waterproof, with a heat resistance stated as reaching 1649 °C, and the purpose given is charging and storing a lithium battery where a failure would otherwise spread.

That is a real concern and a real product. It is not a battery box.

What it does not do

Restrain anything. A battery box bolts down, holds the battery against movement and collects acid. A bag has a handle.

In a vehicle that difference is the whole safety case: an unsecured hundred-amp-hour battery in a stop is not a battery any more.

The handle

A continuous O-loop joined to the base rather than sewn to the sides. The weight goes through the loop instead of through a seam, which is the right way to carry twelve kilos.

The size

35.6 × 24.1 × 19.8 cm, sized for a 12 V 100 Ah LiFePO4 in group 31.

1649 °C, and the test behind it

1649 °C, stated without the test behind it. What was held there, and for how long, is the question — and the listing does not answer it.
