  • The cut-off threshold is 11.8 V, which protects a lead-acid battery before it is deeply discharged
  • A delay of 120 seconds, so a momentary sag does not disconnect the vehicle
  • No standby current, which the other remote switch in this family publishes

Best for: A vehicle parked for weeks where the battery should be saved before it is flat.

A remote isolator that acts before the battery is finished.

Eleven point eight volts

The threshold matters more than the feature. A twelve-volt lead-acid battery sitting at 11.8 V is heavily discharged; at 7.8 V it is damaged beyond recovery. This switch acts at the first figure.

The other remote switch in this catalogue acts at the second. Both are called an automatic cut-off and they are protecting different things.

The two-minute wait

Below 11.8 V the switch cuts after 120 seconds. That delay is what separates a protection from a nuisance: a starter, a winch or a compressor pulls the voltage down for a moment, and a switch without the wait would disconnect the vehicle mid-job.

The connection

Negative side, stated. Power off before installing, stated.

What the upgrade is

Described as using a metal part where the previous generation did not, without naming which part. The improvement is claimed; what changed is not.

The lines this listing leaves blank

The standby draw. The other remote switch here gives 20 mA, and on a switch that stays awake to listen for a fob, that is the figure that decides whether it is worth fitting.

Availability

German, French and Spanish Amazon stores quoted about 35 € when this page was compiled.

Italian Amazon store wanted more than 1.6× what the cheapest country wanted. A margin that wide usually means stock shipped in from elsewhere rather than a seller on the ground, so that quote stays out of the range above.

American and British Amazon stores returned nothing at all, so the buy button there runs a search instead of landing on an empty page.

These figures are what Keepa reported on the day this page was last updated. Availability and pricing move without notice.
