  • 1 µA resolution, which is a different class of instrument from the rest of this family
  • A 99-reading memory and peak capture, so a survey can be taken and read back later
  • No direct-current range is published, in a family named for it

Best for: Hunting earth leakage on an AC installation, at microamp resolution.

A leakage clamp of real quality, in the wrong family.

What it measures

AC 0.001 mA to 60.0 A, at 1 µA resolution. That is three orders of magnitude finer than anything else on this shelf and it is a genuinely specialised instrument.

Earth leakage — the current escaping through damp, a failing appliance, a fault that trips a breaker on a wet morning — lives in exactly that range.

No direct-current range, in a direct-current family

Any direct-current range.

The shelf it sits on is named for DC clamp meters, and the measuring range in the first bullet is alternating current. Whether the instrument reads DC at all is not stated, and inferring it from the family name would be making it up. It is the first thing to ask.

The features that are there

Peak capture. Data hold. A 99-reading memory. A backlit LCD. Non-contact measurement without breaking into the cable. 210 g, with the weight published.

The memory is the useful one: a survey of a dozen circuits can be taken in one pass and read back afterwards.

And three more gaps

No true RMS statement. No jaw opening. No safety category — which, on an instrument for hunting earth faults on a live installation, is the rating that matters most and which no clamp meter in this catalogue gives.

German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores quoted 85 € to 101 € when this page was compiled.

American and British Amazon stores carry it too, priced in their own currency, which the euro range above deliberately omits.
