Plugs into a socket, takes an appliance, shows what it consumes. Two buttons to read and programme, one reset button, an LCD.

For a fridge, a freezer or a coffee machine, that is the whole job.

The safety detail

Raised shock protection on the outlet, and a rating to 3680 W. Indoor use only, IP20, stated plainly rather than left to be assumed.

No range, and no low-load accuracy

A measurement range. A low-load accuracy figure. A list of what the display actually shows. Any tariff calculation.

The first two are the ones that matter. The loads worth hunting are often the small ones — a standby draw of one or two watts, repeated across a house — and a meter that cannot resolve them reports zero. Two meters in this family publish their lower limit; this one does not.
