Cold is when a plastic housing becomes brittle and a dropped connector cracks. Testing the drop at the bottom of the range rather than at room temperature is the harder test and the honest one.
Silvered, with the reason given: consistent conductivity and low heat generation during charging. A contact that heats is a contact that is degrading, and silver is what keeps the resistance down over thousands of cycles.
The composition
