The honesty

The rubber extension lead states in its first bullet that it is for short-term outdoor use. Nothing forces a seller to write that. The cable in question is H05RR-F, the lighter rubber family, and a lighter sheath left out through a winter degrades — so the sentence is accurate rather than modest.

The mechanism

The outdoor cable reel is described by its winding as much as its cable: self-closing socket lids, a braking cam for transport, and a carrying handle that doubles as a cable guide.
