EMOS

Cable reels and rubber leads

Two mains products, and one of them names the material that matters.

Neoprene

The extension lead cites H07RN-F3G 1.5 with neoprene insulation, and claims permanent outdoor and site use on the strength of it.

That is a real distinction. Two leads in that family say explicitly that they are for temporary use, and the difference is the sheath: neoprene keeps its flex in the cold and shrugs off oil and ultraviolet, where PVC stiffens and crazes.

The thermal fuse

The cable reel has one, and the listing says what it does: switches the sockets off if the cable overheats.

That is the specific danger of a reel. Wound on the drum, the inner turns have nowhere to send their heat, and a load the cable carries without trouble when laid out will slowly cook them.

IP20, stated

The reel is declared indoor-use. Honest — and the same bullet then names gardens, which IP20 does not cover. The rating is the one to trust.

What is not separated

The coiled and uncoiled ratings. 3680 W is the uncoiled figure; wound, the safe load is much lower, and one reel in that family publishes both.
