The bottom line A portable charger with proper discrete current settings and a published cable temperature range, capable of shifting a charge into the night. Its headline saving is a percentage with no tariff behind it, and it says nothing about protection.

The steps

6, 8, 10, 13 and 16 A. Discrete values that line up with common fuse ratings, which makes matching the charger to a socket a choice rather than a guess. The next charger on this shelf offers four steps; two others offer none.

The timer

Delayed charging, so the car fills during a cheaper tariff period. That is the genuine saving mechanism, and it works whether or not the quoted percentage does.

The cable

7 metres of TPU, IP65, specified from −30 °C to 50 °C. Publishing both ends of the range on a cable that lives on a driveway through a winter is worth more than it sounds.

The percentage to set aside

Why five current steps rather than a dial?

Because the setting has to match the socket and the circuit behind it. Discrete steps — 6, 8, 10, 13, 16 A — line up with common fuse ratings, which makes choosing correctly easier than a continuous adjustment would.

Can it really save 50 %?

That depends entirely on a tariff the listing does not name. Delayed charging shifts consumption to a cheaper period where one exists; the percentage is a projection and this page does not carry it into the specification lines.
